I really should be working...
Okay, you know what? It's impossible to wait for people to dictate my whims. Well, actually, it is possible but I've decided to control my own whims! They're my own, dammit! What I'm trying to say is, I'm sick and tired of waiting for someone to reply to my previous post and so I'm posting right now and will henceforth post whenever I bloody want and no one can stop me so there, nyah nyah. Right, now that we've got that out of the way...
I have finally gotten my visa! Woo hoo, it's now almost 100% official that I am going to America. In fact, after expecting another long dreary wait at the US embassy I was rather surprised to find that I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Feeling like not enough of my time was wasted I decided to go roam aimlessly around KL for a bit and wound up in KLCC.
Which then led me to visiting Kinokuniya. Which then reminded me of books. Which then reminded me that I wanted to buy a copy of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". Which then led me to finding a copy that looked flimsy and over-priced and made my jaw drop to the floor with an audible *thunk*.
It was a large softcover tome that was going for a not-quite-reasonable 78 bucks. Ack. While I was reluctant to buy it I also reasoned that there are, in this world, at least 6 people who look exactly like me (at least that's what some people tell me). And at least one of these people must be having their birthday on this day...or at least in the month. Or failing that, in this year. In which case it was my job...nay, my DUTY to go and buy this book for their birthday. But since I have no idea where any one of my look-alikes may be in the world, it is only fitting that I, the facsimile, should hold on to the book until one of them comes to claim it. Satisfied with my mental wrangling I prepared to buy the book...only to find an even worthier book.
That's right, I found...The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide!!! (notice all the cool exclamation marks) which contains everything in the Hitchhiker's continuum. Hot-diggety-dang! And it's a hard cover to boot! The best part was that it was only going for 50 smackeroos. For six books (in one large tome. The kind that, if dropped on a human head from a height of 6 meters would cause cause it to explode. The head, not the book)! I was sold.
And I must say, it's pretty good. Not mind-numbingly good, mind you, but still pretty good. I've just finished book 1...and I'm stopping now just in case I run out of good stuff to read during my flight to Michigan...
Rumoku out!
