Welcome to the world's greatest tragedy....
Some days I just wonder whether Somebody up There hates me. Today I spent most of the day procrastinating from doing anything conducive. However, my conscience finally got the better of me and I decided to have a go at studying for an upcoming quiz. I could feel my braincells trying to escape through my nose. After a couple of hours of this I had decided to take a little break. Fortunately, Far decides to call me out to go bowling. Hot dang, a welcome respite!
After playing a preliminary round with Far and his girlfriend Coal (note: these are NOT their real names. I'm pretty sure that their parents would not be that cruel and sadistic...probably), everybody decides to show their true skill. Too bad my skill isn't worth peanuts. After being trounced in two whole rounds I decide to gather whatever is left of my manly pride and leave with my tail between my legs. Besides, they had to leave anyway. The cowards.
Anyway, I was not prepared to go back to the drudgery of studying so I decide to catch a movie. "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" just beckoned me to watch it. I even endured an excruciating 30 minute wait to get a ticket. There was something wrong with the computer systems and everything had to be handwritten. It was like being transported back to the 1950's or something. The movie lines were overflowing all the way out of the cinema...it was horrible. After the long wait I leave with the handwritten ticket safely in my pocket. There was still an hour to the movie so I decide to kill time. I even met an old friend (I'll discuss that in a later post).
The thing is everything is going hunky dory until 15 minutes before the movie start. I check for my ticket and find... that it is GONE. Oh my god! I run around frantically searching for it by retracing my footsteps but to no avail. "Sky Captain" had foiled me this time. Or maybe it was fate. In any case, it was The World's Greatest Tragedy. Dejected, I leave for home. I plan to try and watch the movie again tomorrow. It has become a sort of quest now. If I do not come back...it's because I was not meant to.... Do not try to avenge my death. Wish me luck....
Rumoku out!
