It's almost impossible to colour a bad apple.
Which is why I often use them to test out new mediums (or is that media? Mediums sounds natural, but I'm pretty sure that the correct term is media. Ah well, as they say in France: Whatever!).
Teddy has been harping on me for absolutely ages to test out Artrage. It's a nifty little program, I'll give it that much. It really captures the feel and lookof traditional art media. The problem is, it's so CLOSE to looking like the real thing that I feel a slight pang and miss real art media even more. The main problem is, it doesn't HANDLE like real art media. I'm very tactile and impatient when it comes to art. I like being able to pick colours on the fly and such and know exactly how my brush stroke will be.
It's not that Artrage is a bad program. On the contrary: it's excellent. I'm just not sure that it's my cup o' tea. I like it enough to keep it on my PC for the occasional art tryst, but I'll probably never use it as my de facto colouring program. I do, however, urge people to try it. It's good fun, but I think I'm too stuck on Photoshop for now...
