There are no Cats in America and How Jackie got his groove back...
Okay, I've made my mind up.... I am not going to continue that insanely long post (re: the post before this one). It's just too insanely long. Insane! Besides, the way I see it is that if I spend this week trying to recap last week's Rumoku Adventures I would hafta spend the next week recapping this week. It would be an endless vicious cycle. Sorta like what would happen if you were groped by an elderly woman when you were a child and how you now want to grope little children in your old age. Just say no!
Anyway, it strikes me as rather funny that whilst Americans that I know try to assure me that visiting America is a simple affair regardless of how the news blows things out of proportion, the Authorities go and do a complete turn around and erode all faith I have built up for the past few months that America might not be nuts after all: they forbid Yusuf Islam to visit. What the heck is that all about? He doesn't strike me as someone who is dangerous at all let alone someone who would have connections with terrorists. Man, America would have a lot less to be paranoid about if it would just stop giving people a reason to be pissed off at them. But that's just my opinion.
In other news, Jackie Chan is sexy once more. That's right, ladies, you now have the right to worship Jackie Chan once more. After an amazingly long spate of crappy ass movies (I don't even want to THINK about The Medallion), Jacky Chan has finally gotten back to the basics of his greatness. It probably has to do with the fact that in his latest movie, "The New Police Story", he actually gets to do things the way that he likes. The story was fun, the enemies formidable (something that is lacking in many of his Hollywood forays) and the action scenes made me want to just stand up and clap. I didn't even mind Nicholas Tse like I thought I would. Heck, I even ENJOYED having him in the movie (though it shames me to admit it) It was most fortunate that I , unlike Teddy, had the good fortune to not be behind some floppy headed movie goer and was able to read ALL of the subtitles in English. I didn't even notice the Malay subtitles, but apparently they were painfully off the mark with their translations. Ho hum, what else is new?
Rumoku out!
