Every once in a while I actually say something pertinent....

It seems that what I was just worrying about in the last post is also on the minds of many other people. At the very least, it was on the mind of Marina Mahathir. In today's paper. she laments how the media often just spews out facts without actually considering what they mean. In doing so, the media often paints a skewed perspective of the state of a nation. So, maybe, just maybe, Malaysia is not as badly off as everybody would have me believe. Sure, there's a lot of intolerance and unjustified fears...but is that not true of any country? For now, I think I'll continue to believe that it is safe to take a walk outside at 4am without having to worry about the consequences. I might be wrong, and that belief may be a lie...but sometimes it is good to believe in a lie. It gives the world perspective.

Peace, baby
