Ah...working at home...bliss....
Yeah, I've been working at home for the past week. I've had to work at home for the past week because the computer at the office is, in a word, kattywampas. Specifically, it has a tendency to restart every 10 minutes or so.... A common scenario would go something like this:
*Rumoku typing happily away at computer*
Rumoku: La la la...man, I'm happily typing away at the computer. Maybe I'll eventually finish this script!
*Somewhere in a far off mystical place...like Botswana*
Computer Restart Pixies: Sir, we have a happy worker using a computer!
Computer Restart General: Inconceivable! Have his PC restart immediately!
Computer Restart Pixies: Aye aye, Captain!
General:...Actually, I'm a General. And don't say "Aye aye". We're not part of the navy. I won't be associated with a buttee boy group!
Computer Restart Pixies: ....
*Back at the office...*
Rumoku: La la la.... Yay! I've gotten through another 10 pages! I can...wha? Noooooooooooo...the computer just restarted! You bastards! You camel rapists! You...you....administrators! Arrrgghghht! Kill me now! (continues swearing for another 10 minutes before trying to hang himself because he didn't save).
*Back in mystical Botswana*
General: Mwahahahahhahahahahah! Take that! That shall teach you to be productive at work!
Fortunately, there were no ceiling fans or the like to hang myself from. And we don't have rope either. Or ties. Everybody dresses pretty casually at my work place. I found some duct tape once but it has mysteriously gone missing.... I think my boss suspects something. He doesn't let me handle scissors much anymore either. Anyway, I have requested to work at home because I'm tired of trying to slit my wrists using paper cuts. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to slack off while working at home. This is largely due to the fact that there is a large comfy bed right next to my computer. It effectively hinders any thoughts of productivity. What a quandry...
Rumoku out!
